Where is the Leatherworker Guild? How to become a Leatherworker? You can become a Leatherworker by visiting the Leatherworkers Guild in Gridania. If you have at least L10 in any combat class – you’re on your way to fashion fandom!

Updating your Cooking Gear is quite important if you’re going to be crafting your own leve items. We have a Crafting Gear Guide to help you out on that.

Levequest Items Discussion?

Every tier has 3 kinds of Leves:

  • [1]Single Submit Leves: Levemete & submission are just a short walk from each other.
  • [C]ourier Leves: Levemete is from the [H]ometown, to be submitted to the [L]ocal Levemete.
  • [R]epeatable Leves.

Notes: [1]Single and [3]Repeatable Leves (1 each) are from the [H]ometown, and [L]ocal levemete. [C]ourier leves will always give the Highest EXP per craft, but require alot of time, and travel costs. [3]epeatable leves will always give the Highest EXP per Leve. If you value your leves alot or don’t have many left, these are good. But, they are thrice as expensive. We will recommend the best [1] and [3] levequest(s) for every tier. Note that this depends on server prices and might not apply to you (Unlikely). We will comment on every tiers [C] levequest but will likely never recommend it. Use [C] levequests at your own discretion! Also, a Precursor item means it requires a fully crafted item AS A MATERIAL.

Leatherworker Level 1-15: The early levels

We DO NOT advise using Regular Leves for these low levels. Using Courier / Reverse Courier is the most efficient use of leves in these tiers:

Level 1: Leather Duckbills / 3x Leather [The Bannock] Level 5: Leather Mitts / Fingerless Leather Gloves [The Bannock] Level 10: Hard Leather Caligae / Hard Leather Hunting Belt [Bentbranch Meadows]

All of the Courier quests start from Gridania.

If you want to use spammy single submits…

LTW 1 Leve Recommendation: [H][1] – Leather Choker [The Bannock]
LTW 5 Leve Recommendation: [H][1] – Leather Himantes [Gridania]
LTW 10 Leve Recommendation: [H][1] – Hard Leather Caligae [The Bannock]

  1. For the ltw from lvl 56 you can turn in Dhalmel leather as collectable… imo, it’s the cheapest way to lvl up from 56 to 60. (Also happens with other jobs, like the WVR with Ramie cloth)
You get a bunch of dhalmel hides from reatiner and the dark chestnut logs gathered from forelands… then it’s just 2 or 3 hours of crafting with macros. (I used the 2.0 bis and the blue scrips chest)

  2. this is a basic shopping list for the recipes 1-15, feel free to use it to update your page

    1. Thank you mizuki, this is one of the things I’ve been struggling to update given the amount of updates I have to do. I’ll integrate this once I test and format the guides to the “new standard”! Thank you!

  3. The courier and local leves at 35 are mixed up; the courier leve requests boarskin ringband while the local leve “Soft Shoe Shuffle” requires the peisteskin crakows

  4. You absolutely need to update this and fix this, it’s been over a year since Katherine pointed out the Hard Leather Cesti bit and you haven’t done anything about it.

  5. I don’t really understand the automatic hostility towards precursor leves. I can understand how they -can- be expensive, but out of hand? The level 25 leve for Padded Leather Duckbills is made completely out of vendor items. In a set of leves full of Aldgoat leather, expensive items from other tradeskills, and generally simply not things that can be obtained from a vendor, the Padded Leather Duckbills are far and away the cheapest option there, even if consuming more shards than the other ones.

    1. Now that would completely depend on server prices and may fluctuate greatly. Like mentioned in all guides please use discretion. This block of text isn’t the LAW, but truly a GUIDE. As such, your input is appreciated and may provide insight for others in the future.

The recommendations are the “likely” cheapest given many factors :)

  6. This one and a lot of guides here are just bad and need to reworked. So many instances where it rejects a leve because an item may be expensive/difficult to craft while at the same time suggesting to do the actual expensive (and tedious with minimal reward) repeatable leves. About the only thing they’re good for is a reference for which are the courier leves because that’s gonna be the best and fastest exp, but even then the information is inaccurate in places, like the 35-40 courier which actually asks for Boarskin Ringbands. A comment mentioned it but I didn’t look down to read it and I had already wasted time and leves making crakows before realizing the error.

    1. COURIER will ALWAYS yield the highest exp.. what’s the sacrifice? Time. At level 35+, courier can take a looooooooong while due to travelling.

  7. Just a heads up about the level 20 leves: the Hard Leather Cesti is made using ALDGOAT Leather, NOT Hard Leather as the name might imply. Aldgoat Leather has to be crafted and cannot be obtained from NPCs AFAIK. So this might affect which leve is best for this leveling stretch.

Otherwise, this guide is very useful. Thanks so much for posting it!
