Shadowbringers Updated! “How bad can it be?” Armorer power leveling to 80! ARM Levequest Items comparisons and value moves per tier!

ARM Leveling Guide 35-50

MIN & BTN Leveling Guides updated. Other notes...

Botanist Leveling to 90, as well as Miner Leveling to 90 are updated for the Endwalker tier. Older tiers needs some fixing, although I modernized what I could quickly – I placed the important notes on the top of the aforementioned guides reflecting the major things that you need to take note of.

I will post a personal update soon, for those that are curious…

ShB 5.3 UPDATED! Dwarf Beast Tribe and Ehll Tou

Recent Update Log

5.3 Updates

  • Dwarf Beast Tribe quests added in ShB tier as a notable EXP source.
  • Ehll Tou added as Custom Delivery client option.

Previous updates

  • Kai Shirr added as Custom Delivery client option in ShB tier.
  • L70 to L80 section essentially revamped: New Skills & Rotations! 5.2ish was a clusterF. Skills changed TWICE in a short span of time. All is well now!
  • L70+ Gear recommendation:  Yellow Scrip gear is now recommended, for a number of reasons (Mainly, barely need stats for 70 to 80 leveling)

“Armorsmithing is close to divinity, I presume. One must have faith in the steel and in the artisan.

Ixal Beast Tribe Daily Quests Reminder

Just a quick reminder to do your Ixal Daily Quests!

These dailies are best used to push past “bad tiers”, or simply on your highest level non 50 crafter. I suppose you can also use them on crafting classes which are lagging behind for one reason or the other.

The special currency, Ixali Oaknots, can be used to pick up low-tier DoL and DoH materia! These can be super annoying to come across during melding season. So feel good while doing Ixal dailies knowing you’re pulling a profit on the side!

Armorsmith Level 35 to 40

L35 ARM Class Quest Item: (HQ) Steel Frypan
L35 ARM Leves [L]ocation: Coerthas (Observatorium) | Limsa
L35 ARM Leves Items Discussion:

[H][R] 3x(9) Heavy Steel Flanchard: Nope…
[H] 1x Mythril Ingot: Might be tough to make yourself, but cheap to buy.
[C] 1x Mythril Plate: Value, but needs travel time…[L][R] 3x(9) Steel-plated Caligae: “Best” cause ARM triples suck.
[L] 1x Steel Frypan: IF you can’t HQ ingots.
[L] 1x Mythril Plate Belt: No.

NOTE: Doing courier past level 30 is a little more time consuming since there is NO DIRECT AETHERYTE TELEPORT.

Hate sounding like a broken record but: take advantage of mass crafting the Ingot, Plate, Rings and Rivets while the EXP is still relevant.

Singles: Mythril Ingot stand far above the other singles in this tier. It’s just… yeah. I got no words for it. If for some reason you cant HQ – Steel Frypan is a lot better than the Plate Belt.

Courier: Mythril Plate. Damn, talk about sheer value. What you can do is attempt HQ Plates with failed NQ ingots (hell, even HQ to HQ… you can’t possible UNVALUE this leve).

Triples: Both suck, Steel-Plated Caligae is your best bet for this pile, but not by much…

In this tier, it’s pretty much Ingot or Plate. The only deciding factor is if you have the patience for courier, do that. Just skip the triples man…. I’d rather do C than R this tier by a large margin.

Armorsmith Level 40 to 45

L40 ARM Class Quest Item: (All HQ) Mythril Cuirass
L40 ARM Leves [L]ocation: Coerthas (Whitebrim) | Limsa
L40 ARM Leves Items Discussion:

[H][R] 3x(9) Mythril Alembic: Sadly, the best triple.
[H] 1x Mythril-plated Jackboots: Suckish.
[C] 1x Mythril Chain Coif: Recommended since everything else SUCKS.
[L][R] 3x(9) Mythril Elmo: A toss-up price-wise…
[L] 1x Mythril Barbut: “Worst” among its peers of “Bad”.
[L] 1x Mythril Vambraces: “Best”, but still sucks.

Triples: Both are on the sucky end of the spectrum. If I were to choose a superior triple – I would begrudgingly choose Mythril Alembic. But be responsible and check pricing on Elmo anyway.

Courier: Mythril Chain Coif. Well, it takes time if you don’t have the stockpile of plates and rings. Plus being in Whitebrim makes this a mega timesink. Still, courier is courier. Horrific leves in this tier makes this superior.

Singles: If the notes above didn’t turn you off already, yeah, all the singles in this tier, there is no “standout” best pick. I would say Mythril Vambraces, but don’t come cryin’ here that it’s too expensive or other choices are better.

Overall, this tier sucks. If I were to re-do this tier, I’d just go ahead and do Mythril Elmo courier. If you’re not happy with this conclusion – this is a guide, not a place to wipe your tears.

Just forget about the other leves existing. In fact, I should just delete this entire chunk of the guide and replace it with “Do courier Mythril Elmo”.

Armorsmith Level 45-50

L45 ARM Class Quest Item: (All HQ) Mythril-plated Caligae, Reinforced Mythril Elmo, Mythril Sollerets
L45 ARM Leves [L]ocation: Mor Dhona | Limsa
L45 ARM Leves Items Discussion:

[H][R] 3x(9) High Mythril Armor:  Not worth it.
[H] 1x Cobalt Plate: May be hard to HQ, but cheap.
[C] 1x Hell’s Kitchen: Usual courier.
[L][R] 3x(9) Cobalt Ingot: The value of high heaven.
[L] 1x Cobalt-plated Jackboots: If you can’t HQ Plates… maybe.
[L] 1x Cobalt-plated Caligae: Jackboots are probably cheaper.

Triples: Is easily Cobalt Ingot. I mean, c’mon man. The 4 plates required for High Mythril Armor is just too time consuming. This really requires no explanation… I’m a bit embarrased I typed any word past “Cobalt Ingot”.

Courier: MD is a faaaar courier, but if you have the patience, Hell’s Kitchen isn’t a bad call. Rosewood is pretty cheap.

Singles: The best single leve is Cobalt Plate. If you’re having a hard time HQing – then you’re better off with Jackboots over Caligae, but seriously – just do yourself a favor and do Plates if you’re rockin’ singles.

What a painless tier. Honestly, the three choices are so good it’s purely up to you. Ingot, Plate or Frypan – you’re well on your way to 50, EZ.

Same old same old – grind it up on Plates, Rivets and Rings whenever you can!

Armorsmith – 50 and beyond

So – finally got you to 50? What to do now? First of all, complete your Level 50 ARM class quest, to get your blue weapon.

Level 50 Armorsmith Class Quest Item:
(HQ) Cobalt Haubergeon (Melded with: Heaven’s Eye III Materia)

Grats on 50! Onwards to Heavensward tier!

  1. Regarding the Lvl 76 Macro Update: I think I’ll stick to the L74 Macro as the little update is too unreliably for lower recipies than L76 if you follow the gearing update at Lvl 71. It finishes the craft before the quality step is finished.
Otherwise many many thanks and much love tou you creating and sharing all these wonderful leveling guides for DoH/DoL. It’s a huge boost for me. <3

  2. Just wanted to throw it out there that you can buy the Titanium Tassets of Fending from Zundu Sell-It in Sea of Clouds for 11,008 gil, just in case you have the extra cash on hand to throw at it rather than have to deal with all the crafting.

  3. For me, it seems the best way to get 56-60 is by doin collectible’s.

Titanium nuggets are 100k a turnin, wich translates the same as the leve’s more or less.

Leveled GSM the same way, and u can go up really quickly provided u have the materials.

Also, if you fail to achieve 250 collectible..your still able to turn them in as a leve.

  4. I’ve hit 56 on armorer yesterday and got to 58 today in about 3 hours. Since I have a miner so I’ve spent an hour gathering all mats and grind on Titanium Nuggets for collectible turn in and use commercial scrolls to boost exp, with rested exp, I net about 33K per nugget. So for 20 nuggets turn in I got roughly 2.9mil exp, it didn’t take that long imo. From 56-60 you would need about 12mil exp so it comes down to 80-90 nuggets, not to mention if you’re doing Moogle beast tribe and daily GC, it will fasten up the process.

  5. Hi,
Armorer is my second skill im (serious) leveling. Since my GSM is maxed out i used the Mythril ingot leve from the 35-40 tier all the way to lvl 45 or so since its easy-peasy to HQ them as lvl 60 GSM. Fastest way to get past those lvls IMO

  6. Well between lv25-30 you don’t recommend to do leve Heavy Iron Flanchard but I disagree with you. I could make HQ Heavy Iron Flanchard at lv26 which I get another 100% exp extra when I turn in (55k in 1 allowance). Consider allowance are based on time I recommend to use it wisely.

It cost more materials and money to make but if you stockpiled iron ingots (HQ) and Aldgoat leather it’s worth the exp based on allowance. I recommend this is the fastest way to reach lv30.

But overall I love your site!!

    1. Yep courier is a good choice if you’re short on leves. As a general rule people who swim in leves wouldn’t mind the speed of singles.

    1. If leves are SCARCE to you, then it’s not recommended. Doing the crafting log + GC scroll EXP should bring you up. However, as stated above, the “courier + reverse courier” would be the most leve-efficient choice.

  7. Not sure if it’s changed but the Level 50 Armorer turn in quest is a Cobalt Haubergeon with a Heaven’s Eye Materia III.
