NIN BiS Discussion

The BiS is quite intuitive this time around and it basically builds itself. Nearly every piece with crit is used with the exception of Midan Body.

Midan Body isn’t too big of a loss since we actually need the accuracy from its counterpart. Midan Body also has SS so the 88 Crit (while sorely missed) is something we just cannot afford to dip our greedy hands into.

Even with the Mudra Changes, SS is still pretty bad. It’s main function is a garbage stat that you’re forced upon cause you have no choice in gear selection.

The Augmented Torrent Kris is an amazing “filler”. Not all classes can say their lore weapon stands up as a near equal to the Midan Counterpart but Ninjas have that luxury. Besides, not everyone will be able to clear A8S asap.

There’s not much else to say here. Unupgraded Ring may provide less than 0.3% DPS increase but is overall a bit of a hassle, and has problems scaling into greater content (so adjusting your gear to this may not be the best idea IE more ACC Melds)

NIN Lore Tomestone Buy Order

The below spending strategy is purely to obtain BiS fastest:

  • Weapon: Amazing stats, worth every tome as a “filler”.
  • Body: Since Midan is A8
  • Legs: Since Midan is A7
  • Helm: Rounds out left-side BiS
  • Wrist > Ring > Earring by order of value stats.

ANYTHING ELSE IS OPTIONAL: left-side fillers first Gloves > Boots, then accessories Neck > Ring(Unupgraded).

FFXIV Job Requirements Guide

HEAVENSWARD UPDATED: Dark Knight, Astrologian, Machinist Requirements. Learn the job reqs for ALL jobs in FFXIV!

ffxiv job requirements all jobs plus dark knight astrologer machinist

Update: HEAVENSWARD Jobs: Dark Knight, Astrologian, Machinist included. In this guide we list down all known pre-requisites to unlock every known job in FFXIV. Not every job is quite equal, so read if you’re wondering about something.

For those wanting to ‘begin the game’ as Dark Knight, Astrologian or Machnist read on.

For Ninja: It’s important to note that you cannot start the game as a Rogue. If you wish to rush to Ninja, begin the game as Pugilist (as It’s the secondary class requisite).

Note on all jobs: Obtaining the “Soul Crystal” of the Job is what technically transforms you to it. Your CLASS guildmaster will direct you to your Jobs “Guildmaster” once the requirements are met – and you will get your new questline for your Job skills there (as well as the soul crystal for your job upon completing the first one). Many new Job skills are unlocked via job quests.

Heavensward Jobs

All the three new jobs need the following:

1) You must have an existing Level 50 combat class (DoW or DoM).
2) You must have completed “Before the Dawn” (all story quests prior to 3.0).
– Only then will the job unlock quest open up…

Where & what are the unlocks quests for Dark Knight, Machinist and Astrologian?

Astrologian Stairway to the Heavens The Pillars 15,10 Jannequinard
Machinist Savior of Skysteel Foundation 8,10 Stephanivien

FFXIV: Ninja General Guide & FAQ

All you need to know about Ninjas in FFXIV: A Realm Reborn! How to become a Ninja, Ninja requirements, Ninja skills, FAQ’s and Guides!

Note that this page contains what we know for SURE, and will be updated come 2.4

How do I become a Ninja in ARR?
You need to be a Rogue (30) and Pugilist (15) First! If you’ve met these requirements, you can return to the Rogues Guild in XXX to get your quest to obtain the “Soul of the Ninja”. In FFXIV ARR, becoming a job is as simple as equipping the required Soul.

What’s the Ninja playstyle?
Unlike other melee classes, Ninja has the least positional strikes. The uniqueness of the Ninja rotation is based all around the Mudras. Choosing the best Ninjutsu for the situation and not getting confused on Mudras would separate the chumps from the Hokages!

What are good Ninja stats?
DEX is the main Ninja stat, increasing their damage dealt. For secondary stats, we shall see. But Determination and Critical Strike are always a safe choice. Of course we will update this when more information is found.

What are the Ninja Traits?
There are no Ninja specific (or any advanced job for that matter) traits. You inherit all Rogue traits you’ve already learned.

What are the Ninja Skills?
Aside from the skills below, you may use any skill you’ve learned as an Rogue. Ninjas also have access to some Lancer  and Pugilist skills.

Rabbit MediumFailed Mudra combinations result in this useless skill.

We chose not to order the skills by level to further increase clarity of the Ninja System.

How many cross-class skills can Ninja use?
Ninja can have up to 5 skills from the Lancer and Pugilist class combined. (5 for Advanced Jobs, as compared to 10 that Rogue can equip)

Do I have to level up Ninja separately?
No, your EXP in Ninja rises as you level up your Rogue class. Leveling up as s Ninja will increase your Rogue EXP.
